All of my career coaching offerings are broken into 4 categories:

Writing ✍🏿

Your first entry point into the job search are your application materials: resume, cover letter, LinkedIn, and portfolio (depending on your role). In order to land interviews, it’s imperative your application materials are up to date and clearly communicate your strengths, skills, and accomplishments. If you just starting your job search OR are applying to jobs but not getting any interviews, I recommend we start with this.

Offering
Resume, Cover Letter, and LinkedIn Re-Write

I will look over your resume and cover letter, provide you with detailed written suggestions, guide you to make improvements, and teach you how to make your materials standout. This will empower you with the knowledge you need to make future edits. Optional: I can also transfer your resume and cover letter into a custom-branded template.

I will review your LinkedIn, identify concrete improvements you can make to your profile, and give you steps to grow your LinkedIn presence. I can also recommend strategies for you to increase your LinkedIn engagement that can boost your profile for recruiters. | | Portfolio Review

If you are a technologist (designer, developer, data scientist, product manager, etc) and your job applications require a portfolio, I can review your portfolio to assess if there’s anything you can improve. I will offer concrete, actionable improvements you can make on your portfolio that will more clearly communicate your skills and strengths as you apply to jobs. | | Content Creation Strategy

Creating content is a key component in getting people to notice you on LinkedIn and other social media platforms. I will help you identify a content creation strategy for you to become a thought leader on LinkedIn and develop your brand. If you are interested in creating content, I will help you map out a content creation strategy to outline the topics of your content, timeline for posting it, and other ideas to get further reach on your content. This can be done for any platform of your choice, but I specialize in LinkedIn. |

Speaking 🎤

You need to be ready to clearly and effectively communicate your story, your background, and your experience during interviews. These offerings are crafted to help you do this during interviews. I will also give you resources you can use outside of our work together to help you sustain your practice even when we aren’t working together.

Offering
Mock Interviews

To help you practice your “about me” pitch and be more confident in interviews, we can run mock interviews together. I will send over a list of questions to prepare ahead of time, you’ll write out your answers, and we’ll run the interview in preparation for a specific job. Afterwards, I’ll give you feedback on what you can improve. We can run 1-2 mock interviews depending on the types of jobs you’re applying for. | | Crafting your Story

Being able to effectively communicate your “why”, your interests in a role, and your experience is key to moving forward in the interview process. Storytelling around how you’ve solved challenges, worked with other people, and managed conflict are important to articulate correctly. I will help you craft your story around answering tough interview questions, and give you additional resources to help you craft your answers moving forward. |

Thinking 🧘🏽

This is the heavy stuff. Part of naming your “why” is understanding deeper aspects of your goals and the life you want to live. Developing a “north star” or a vision for yourself is key when making a career transition. The offerings in this section will help you identify goals, make a plan of action, create resilience plans, and assess your holistic needs as you move into a new industry or role.

Offering
Industry Exploration & Wayfinding

In a guided practice, I will help you explore your industries of interest. This will include sending you resources to help you explore what types of opportunities are available, helping you find your way in the industry, research what types of jobs are open, assess how your skills can be transferrable. All of this will give you a better idea of where you fit in the industry of your choice, and will help you start broad so we can then narrow down your job search later down the line. This is best suited for people who have little to no experience in the industry they want to transition into and need help exploring what opportunities exist. | | Goal Setting & Action Plan

I will help you identify concrete goals for the immediate future and help you create plan of action to achieve them. This includes outlining each goal, a timeline for each, the various factors related to achieving the goal, and how other people play into your goals. We can also develop your “north star” that guides all of your goals, which including thinking about your career trajectory, the larger impact you want to have, or any big picture goals you might be thinking about (family, further education, getting a leadership position, etc). | | Holistic Life Assessment

It’s important we take into consideration your various other responsibilities and bills when assessing what types of jobs you want to move into, as any new job should still afford you the quality life you want to have. I will guide you through an exercise to identify what are the things you need in life to live the way you want to: salary, budget, bills, work/life balance, time for family, time for hobbies, place you want to live, and identify all those things for the immediate future as well. This will help you find jobs that meet those specific needs. Part of this could also include taking assessments to help me understand you better including the StrengthsFinder Assessment or similar tools. | | Creating a Resilience Plan

Burnout is super common in the social impact and climate industries. These are industries where you’ll be working on challenges for real people with your work having a very real impact on people, communities, and the environment, which is a weight you might be carrying, and can cause burnout. We will work together to create a resilience plan that will help you ensure you don’t burnout. This includes strategizing and writing out a plan to help you: relax, de-stress, take breaks from work and the job search, nurture your inner child, take care of your other responsibilities, find time for play, and help you stay strong in times of tumult. | | Developing an Impact Statement

Similar to a personal statement, an impact statement will help you identify the impact you want to have with your skills and work. This is a statement that will identify your strongest skills, orient them towards an industry, and describe the impact you want to make with any organization or industry. This is something you can add directly to your LinkedIn, resume, or use during interviews. |

Doing 🤸🏽

Now let’s get to work! As your career coach, I will be your accountability partner in helping you accomplish the things you want to do. All of these items involve actions you can take, and I can help guide the strategy behind every step you take towards your career change.

Offering
Networking Strategy

Networking is a key component of getting your foot in the door in a new industry, with a new company, or with getting referrals to future jobs. In order to see success with transitioning your career, networking is a must. We’ll work together to create a networking plan, outlining who you should talk to, how to reach out to them, what questions to ask, and how to follow up with them. In order to streamline networking, I can provide a templates for all of this. | | Upskilling Strategy

When transitioning into a new role or new industry, it’s important to think about how you will upskill yourself to meet the needs of that new industry, and pursue new skills to give yourself a competitive advantage. It IS possible to do this in a way that is natural to you, fits in with your schedule, and is affordable. Upskilling can include taking a short course on upskilling sites like Udemy/Udacity/Coursera, taking a 3-6 month course related to your industry, or exploring other options out there to make you more prepared for the job search and interviews. If you’re a technologist, these classes might also give you more case studies to add to your portfolio. | | Customized Job Recommendations

As your career coach, I’ll work with you to have a deep understanding of your skills, interests, and goals. Given my experience and network in the social impact industry and the climate industries, I will use my knowledge to send you job recommendations tailored to your unique skillset to help you narrow down your job search. This can be done at a biweekly cadence, will include 5-10 jobs that match your profile, and I will also help hold you accountable to applying for those jobs. |
